Costco Forms of Payment

The NEW Costco Anywhere Visa

When shopping at Costco they take a limited range of payment options. The types of payments are:

Cash
Check
Debit Card
Visa
EBT (Food Stamps)
As of June 2016, American Express is no longer accepted at Costco.

Visa is the only type of credit card is accepted at Costco. When you initially sign up for membership at Costco, you are offered the Costco Anywhere Visa card. If you have the necessary credit you can get approved for this start and start collecting the benefits of

4% Cash Back at Gas Stations
3% Cash Back at Restaurants and Travel
2% Cash Back at Costco and Costco.com
1% Cash Back on Everything Else

If you are going to apply for this card I would ensure you have a credit score of at least 660 (700+ being recommended). Nobody wants to take an unnecessary hit on their credit score unless they are going to be rewarded with a shiny new credit card.

If you want to be able to keep track of your credit score on a monthly regular basis at no cost I would recommend you use Credit Sesame.

Credit Sesame is going to give you your Experian credit score. Now, unlike some other free credit score websites, Credit Sesame is going to give you a real credit score where as others will give you what is referred to as a FAKO Score. (A FAKO score is only an estimate of your potential score based on the information that you provide. There is no guarantee that it will be right, or even close to your actual score.) They will also provide you with free updates every few months. This way you can easily keep track of your Experian score history.
