Hotel Review: San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

Earlier this year in late January, BulkTraveler flew into San Juan airport to try and escape the nasty Midwest winter and catch some sun. While we were in Puerto Rico we were scheduled to visit the four Puerto Rico Costco locations. The locations are in San Juan, West Bayamon, East Bayamon, and Caugas.

When looking for a hotel to stay at, we were determined to be somewhere right on the beach for at least a portion of the time. We settled on the Marriott in San Juan.

The Marriott San Juan is located at 1309 Ashford Ave San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is an amazing location right on the ocean.

When we first arrived at the hotel we were greeted at the entrance, where they valeted our car for us; although you can choose to do self-parking if you wish.

When entering the lobby of the hotel there is a large fancy bar. They also had Marriott employees walking around lobby giving out fruit flavored water.

Check-in was very painless. We waited in a short line for about five minutes before being helped. After we were all checked in we made out was to our ocean view room on the sixth floor. We were in room 615 to be exact.

The room had two queen beds and was very clean and spacious.

The bathroom had nice granite counter tops and was sporting the typical Thann bathroom amenities.

In the bathroom there were two bottles of complementary water.

The best part of the room was the amazing view from the balcony. Coming from the Midwest and seeing nothing but snow and dark clouds all winter, it was nice to see the sunny ocean.

Out of all of the hotels located on the same stretch, the Marriott has the best beach by far. They have nice chairs outside that you can use at no charge to start working on your winter tan.

If playing in the ocean isn’t for you, they have a very nice swimming area that you can take advantage of.

We took a walk down the beach and it is very evident that a lot of the other hotels in the area need a lot of work. There was also a lot of graffiti. Hopefully the area can get spruced up, as it would make the overall area more attractive.

Within walking distance of the hotel there is a lot of food options and even a Starbucks right across the street.

We really enjoyed this hotel and it was a nice oasis for us while we were in Puerto Rico.
